The official launch of the Visa Fee Exemption programme for 48 countries was held today (31st of July 2019) at the Temple Trees under the patronage of the Hon. Prime Minister, Hon. Minister of Tourism Development, Wildlife and Christian Religious Affairs, the State Minister of Tourism Development, Wildlife and Christian Religious Affairs and industry heads.
This process will commence from the 1st of August 2019 for a period of 6 months.
The list of Visa fee exempted countries are attached herewith for your information. As per the Controller General of the Department of Immigration and Emigration Mr. Pasan Rathnayake, this facility could be obtained only for a period of one month and if desired to extend, the normal process applies.
Further, as per the Controller General, this facility could be availed through ETA and even from the special counter at the Airport, once the passenger arrives to Sri Lanka.
