The ceremony to launch the “Miss World Tourism 2023” contest which is organised as an international pageant for the first time in Sri Lanka, was held at the Sri Lanka Tourism premises in Colombo last Tuesday under the patronage of distinguished dignitaries. Contestants representing 40 countries including Sri Lanka will vie for the crown.

The Pageant is scheduled to commence on July 20 in Sri Lanka. The contestants’ will spend 10 days in Sri Lanka from July 20 to July 30 attending many mini pageants and ultimately the Grand Finale.

The official Logo and the official Website (www.missworldtourism.lk) of the “Miss World Tourism 2023” were also unveiled to the public at the launching ceremony.

The pageant is organised with a view to promote Sri Lanka’s Tourism Industry and hosting of this pageant will provide a welcome and much needed boost to the local tourism industry. The pageant apart from focusing on beauty also focuses on the promotion of Sri Lanka’s tourist attractions, culture and heritage. Miss World Tourism Director Radhika Gunasekara, Choreography Director Arjuna Senanayake, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Chairman Thisaru Jayasooriya, Zilhan Rahman and others were present.
